[/ QUOTE ] GM spent a lot of Time, Money, and Effort developing the "Stock" type distributor..........there's nothing wrong with a point or HEI set-up for a street car........get a GM and just have the curve set for your application, put it in and "Forget" about it.............My $.02......."And" it won't leave you on the side of the Road........LOL Ken

My thoughts.
HEI dont look period correct - as good as the system is. Points systems require setting, and dont seem to cut it compared to electronic set ups. The Accel distrib seems to give me the smaller (non HEI) distrib size, that blends in, and doesnt look so obtrusive. Plus I get the performance and reliability of the electronics. Plus, it was free. Now, if some of you are telling me the accel set up is junky, or prone to failure. thats a whole new ball game.
