I have no idea. Who's to say the stick must be on the trim tag? Probably means something else, but I am not a Buick guy.

well it is really true, "an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of something or other" thumbs up to the buick guy's, they were some real life savers on this one. dennis

2L designation means 4 speed on every gm tag.

It's a shame the tags are all pop riveted. This would be a neat car to drive.

yes, that is true. I dont know where that "B3" comes from in the earlier post.

In my paperwork, Buick's code for a 4-speed is B3. That's the code by the box where you check on the order form.

Now what's this "2L" code that supposedly appears on dataplates? Even '69 GTOs have this?

The 2L code only applies until 1967 as far as I know. Are there any hidden vins on a 65 to at least tell if the VIN is original to the car?
