It's a shame to see that place closed. I live about 25 miles from that place and it was a decent set up where you could have some fun either spectating or driving. Last race was in October 30th 2005. Land around that way is getting built up from old farms to country type sub divisions, you know the rest of the story......

SSJUNKIE68-69 My vehicle was bought in silver spring maryland at sport chevrolet, car was takin to 75-80 and raced there often, the peaple that bought it knew were E.J.Heskett construction(Old Dead eye)orange 69 copo RS they lived in jessup Maryland,I just wanted to know If and who maybe has some old photo's from 69 through 71 do you know If the same peaple still own the place or who did during that time????any info appreciated??Thanks Mike

Mike, the Wilcom family has owned the track the entire time. There are 4 brothers whose family has farmed the 5 square mile parcel of land for generations. They have run a diary operation that's pretty self sufficent. They are good people. They built the track in 1950 in a alfalfa field. Bill Wilcom has been the track manager the entire time after he got out of the service. He might have some info for you. He had to close down the track due to health reasons and has been able to beat it

When it was operating it was the oldest track in the state of Maryland.

I'll pm you his phone number. It's worth a call. He would have the photos from the past. Hope you can dig up some pics of your car from back in the day. If you do find some please post them here when you get a chance.
