let's not get excited, it's just a photo gallery and comments should be light. It's a real hassle taking photos and posting them, especially older non digital stuff that has to be scanned. I for one would not bite the hand that feeds me entertainment.
Thanks for posting ! ![]() |

Can I come work for you? It's a heck of a lot easier taking them apart and not putting them back together. Plus I need a carreer change anyway. I'd rather crawl through cars then some of the crap people have stuffed up in their attics! Be kind to an HVAC technician this year and all other years hereafter. This is why we are a dying breed. We get sucked into car stuff! Love all the car pics even if they are in a junkyard. Means more parts for me! Scrap more 4 doors. Umm I misspelled it for a reason. (carreer)

Here's a fairly rare 65 Studebaker Daytona "Sport Sedan" I bought as a parts car. It was pretty rotted but still had some good parts. It originally came with a Chevy 283 automatic, twin traction Dana 44 rear end, transistorized ignition, bucket seats etc. It was built at the Hamilton, Ontario plant.

[/ QUOTE ] Actually, that looks a lot like an old scrappers trick to pull an engine when there was no hoist available--cut however much you need off the nose to clear the engine and drag it out the front with a heavy chain. Seen it done more times than I care to remember. (I still shudder at the memories) Eric |

I have watched my great Uncles do that several times. They torch the front end and sometimes the mounts and secure a HUGE logging chain to the engine and take off in the truck and when the chain reaches the end.... out comes engine and trans. Load em up and scrap em. I watched them do it to a pristine falcon pickup truck once. They jerked the engine/trans and part of the cap off the car. Chain was about 80 ft long
. Fun to watch .Tommy ![]() |
