COPO, i WOULD love to see the SC finish nicely. my SC restoration is still pending until i sell the Roush. i know all about the unavalability on SC/rambler parts! luckly the prior owner went down to AMC and bought sheetmetal for the whole car back in 1973 (just in case he schmucked it up). all that NOS is waiting to go on my Hurst.

Yeah I know its for fun. But that line-up sure looks lop sided to me. Its more like "Dealer Built Super cars vs. Dealer tuned production cars!" I don't get it.

Hi everyone,
I thought the Shootout was a fine show. We all know the Yenkos could have run better. The Goat ran even better then when it was new and looked great doing it. The Superbee ran fine and I know first hand those 440 six packs haul butt. I don't know much about the Shelby except I always like that bodystyle and the color of that one was cool. I must say I liked the the Hurst SC/Rambler the most!!! This little Underdog showed that it did run with the Big Boys and they told you if you tweeked it a little it would really fly. I know this to be true as I own a SC that is running the Cross-Ram intake. My SC was running the 1/4 in 12.61 back in the day. Maybe this was not as fast as a Yenko but it was faster then most for a lot less money. I was just honored that the Hurst SC/Rambler was included in this show. They have been overlooked as one of the best muscle cars ever built for to long. AMC even told you in their original ads that with a little sharp tunning you would be running 12's. Not bad for a car that cost under $3,000.00.
It was a fun show as it was ment to be. I know it was better then watching a show about Tunner cars . To me this show was great and I didn't care which car won. They were all winners just by being on the show. A big thank you to all the owners that let them use their cars.
See my SC at,

We have worked hard to make this a great site for everyone. Please check out the muscle car index page as we would like to add some pictures and info about other great muscle cars. I hope someone from here will email Joie some info about these great Yenko and Copo cars. We want to post correct information on these great cars and felt you guys would be the best place to find it. Email it to [email protected] .
If you guys know of any cool SC stories please post them on the forum page at the above site. If you won or lost to a SC on the streets or strips in the past we would like to hear about it.
Thanks,
Matt
PS: I can't believe it but I'm going to the Barrett Jackson auction this year. I'm just going to see the cars as they should be great. If there is a car there you guys would like pictures of let me know and I will post them for you when I get back. I will also get to see the B-scheme Hurst SC/Rambler go through the auction block, COOL !!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Matt

Matt - "Welcome aboard" glad to hear from you. I enjoyed the shootout as well. I think they represented all the big auto makers fairly. 1 lucky guy got to hammer the pedal on all those nice wheels and get paid for it to. Now that's cooler than being the only rooster in the hen house.

That's why Joel's old guarantee stipulated the use of his driver to drive the car .........Off a roll in the 1/4, it would have been 1--2 Chevy........... .... My compliments to the owners for sacrificing their cars for the tests.....

i noticed the driver mispoke when he said the SC/rambler came with 3.56 gears. all SC's came with 3.54's. they also mentioned that all cars rean gears between 3.91's and 4.10's. were any other cars geared incorrectly from factory specs? anyone else catch any slip ups?
