![]() ![]() Those are nice but later issue 70 and up frames. Chuck always has the goods though, IMO!!! The lower frame pictured here is most likely correct for 68-70 specific years only! ![]() Typically, by the maunfacturer who made these on the west coast, as noted on the below image, the Tear Drops on the lower mounting of the License Plate Frame / License Plate was general issue back then. This is not to say that each dealer followed this pattern; as per the above CONE issued frames! ![]() ![]() |

We have a few sets of the Cone frames like the ones shown above...and the date coding on the back matches up to 1967...and living in the area I remember the red frames being the later issued ones (similar to the Selman frames of the time)
![]() BTW, Chuck bought these from the same guy I bought mine from...at the same time. Chuck out bid me...and the guy had another set that he sold to me ![]()

RE:RPOz11 Thanks for your reply.....I have not had any luck as of yet. Iam still looking for 1 good one. The lower style of the Black dealer plate(s) pic you submitted. The pic of the plate and frame I attached in the beginning of the thread was from an original one owner 1970 full sized wagon that was sold new in the same month my car was and the blue plate alpha numeric id are very close to my car as well. The ones that were on ebay (427 king) are from a earlier style as stated later on in the thread. I did not know ther was dates cast into these frames and would be curious as to where they are? I believe Robert Brown co. out of Downey CA. was doing most of the frames in the southern Ca. area. Thanks to all who are helping out as well.

Kim,
I was in SoCal recently...and went into some antique places that I know of. I didn't have any luck with plate frames...but I did find a cool yardstick from Banner Chevrolet in Denton TX...from 1969 with the slogan...putting you first keeps us first! I will keep looking though! ![]()

Sorry it took so long to get a pic of this one but here it for all to see.
I believe this was a 1975 or 1976 year vehicle that it is on: ![]()
