There are some pretty nice homes in Wadsworth, IL. That's just west of Waukegan. The prices may be above what you're looking to spend though.
Like Belair said, you probably won't want to live in Waukegan. Pleasant Prairie, WI is pretty nice and growing fast. I think their taxes are a little cheaper in southern WI also.

 Dammit I haven't been back since we all went...maybe I can get over there in the next couple weeks......you would need light armor and depleted uranium in the area though.

Very nice area with off street parking. All kidding aside....How about around where Darren lives. Looks real clean and seems affordable. St Charles area. Looked nice to me.
