[ QUOTE ] Are you sure you don't have to buy the emblem separately? Seems weird that 2 individually packaged plates would be missing the emblem. Jason [/ QUOTE ] I sold a lot of those sill plates when I worked for Camaro Specialties and know that the emblems are not in the package and come separately but are part of the sale. We never charged for them if you bought the sill plates. Someone obviously failed to include them. Rick H. [/ QUOTE ] They said they would be sent out tomorrow.......Just seems to be the norm lately....... Ken

I sell these parts and as far as I know they are packaged separatly as FISHER BODY is a trademarked name.By separating the emblem you only have to license the emblem itself and not the whole door sill plate.Less money for GM.But when I sell the moldings I include the emblems. What I don't understand is why you didn't use GM ones, as far as I know they're still avaiable(at least they are in Canada)I think restoation parts are like anything else. Some are good, some are OK, some just suck outright. When you buy your parts mailorder thats the chance you take.A reputable dealer should advise you whats good and what not.Just an idea but a good category for this forum would be a report card rating quality of purchased resto parts. This might give manufacturers more insentive to build it right the first time.Great example:67/69 F-body door sill mouldings, the ones you can still get from GM lack any detail, the corvex repros are as thin as tissue paper. At SEMA I recommended to TRIM PARTS(a quality parts supplier) to repro these items. That was 10 years ago,I think they are finally getting around to it.Anyway I don't want to steal your thread.Remember a lot of resto parts suck but even nos parts are not like the originals(as GM outsourced to differant manufacturers and are only meant to do the job not look cosmeticly correct).I'm getting dizzy, gotta go.Steve

[/ QUOTE ] Trim parts now offers the sill plates with the tag riveted on. I bought a set for my 67 RS. Only flaw I see is they are too shiney. Not meant to steal the thread just give some info. The Biscayne looks awesome BTW. Rick H. |

Update......Finally got in the Oil Pressure switch adaptor (and it actually fit) and installed it, been waiting to pre-lube the engine till the oil system was sealed up.......went to get one of those pre-lube tools that spins the oil pump to pressurize the system......the Tool didn't have a body portion on it to fill in the area as the distributor would....anyhow it just didn't feel like it was building pressure while spinning it with a drill......So......I had an extra Distributor and decided to make my own ........I cut the teeth off the Distributor gear and instead of welding a stud on the top of it and ruining it........I took the rotor off and removed the centrifical advance springs leaving the spring studs that are solid to the Dist shaft........I then made an adapter that I put in my Electric drill and spin the unit......the adaptor had a couple of holes in it that engaged the spring studs and with the teeth gone it spun the pump and built pressure just like it was supposed to do.....all I have to do is put on a new gear if I ever need to put it back in service......here are some pic's
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Worked like a Charm...............After Pre-Oiling, I put the Distributor and wires on (Cumby....the oil cap is now gone....LOL).....the Radiator that was promised to be shipped last Friday (10 weeks now) without Fail.....still hasn't been shipped and I am having seat covers made locally with all the correct colors......gonna put the Exhaust system on next week and the front and rear glass that was supposed to be put in last Wednesday "Might" get put in next Monday.......I set up an appointment at the Alignment shop in two weeks......Gonna push to make it happen..........."THEN"......I'm gonna trailer it down to Roodhouse and do a nice "Burnout" in front of Cumby's place.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ken
