Doug, I would just try to find an 010, 4 bolt block with those dates. DZ is just a suffix code. All these blocks are pretty much the same.

I would be interested in a late july(69) 010 four bolt main also if anyone has one.

[/ QUOTE ]Yes to the correct car. But if it is not YOUR VIN etc on the block it may as well be just another 4 bolt block. It would be great if all blocks could find there original homes.

My friend has a DZ block he is going to sell soon.
I will have to go back and look at the date codes but I am fairly certain he has the complete shortblock.
Heads might be not Z28 correct originals but maybe a rebuilt set of 186 heads opened up.
Give me a few days to go see and I will post my findings for you then.

OK, here is what he has:

H-27-9 date code: (sorry, my cell camera is not the best!)

V0903DZ Factory GM stamping:
this is NOT a re-stamp!

He has a short block with a set of H-27-69 casted 186 heads.
No 472 intake, or any other parts.
Std. Bore.
he states having a set of .010 over cosworth pistons for this as the ring ridge is hardly visible...
4-Bolt mains.
This is close for you in dates.
There is no VIN on this block.
