If it looks questionable, fwd it to [email protected]

If it says " dear ebay member" it's suspect,if it addresses your alias probably a good idea to forward any way as these shisters are getting as clever with these as they are fake docs-

I had that happen to me. In answering a message from someone on my e-mail, they apparently got my password. Ebay locked my account and I had to reset the password. I just happened to be in Singapore at the time. I now answer them through Ebay only.

Ebay is primarily concerned with making money for the investors. Heck, they wanted to block me from contacting a member about an item that did not meet reserve for fear that I would buy the item offline and deny them their cut!!

That is where they put their efforts, not stopping scammers in my opinion.

Less than 2 hours left and there are still bidders who haven't bothered to read my warning comments in the questions. I've been busy emailing them to urge them NOT to bid or retract their bid. I even had one guy email me and ask, "so, can I buy the rims now?"

This suuucks

Verne,

Either call them (888-749-3229), or click on the "Live help" link at the top right hand corner of the main ebay page. You might have to wait awhile for someone to get on, but that's probably your best bet at this point.

By the way, that number was found a few months ago so it may not be valid any longer.

Thanks, Right now, I'm just waiting it out. I've lost a lot of respect for Ebay after going through this!

There is one simple rule to ALWAYS follow regarding ANY email that appears to come to you from eBay or Paypal. If it doesn't have your full name clearly stated in the email it's fake. eBay & Paypal will always refer to you by your full real registered name.

eBay will always have this statement at the top of the email:

eBay sent this message to "Your Full Name" (username).
Your registered name is included to show this message originated from eBay.

Scammers will not have your registered name because if they did they would not be sending you an email because they would already have access to you account.

Never respound to

Dear eBay User

Dear (User Name)

Paypal will always refer to you as Dear "Your Full Name"

Never as:

Dear Paypal User

Dear (User Name)

I've received 1000's of scam emails from eBay & Paypal pretenders. Some have had my username on them but none have ever had my full register name.

That's the golden rule I follow.

Rick
