Bruce,

You da MAN ! Did you notice who brought the '71 Monte Carlo with the dealer plates? Cool muscle car with a nice dash of creature comforts for good measure.

The Starliner was, I beleive, owned by John Vermersh (SP) when it was in Detroit. He is the SOHC guru around here and does all kinds of work for Ford and on Fords.

Car Craft did an article on him and his "sock-motor" Starliner way back in about 1980, I think in the "Cruisin' USA" series, and I learned about the 6-foot SOHC timing chain from that article. If I can find it I'll post it.

Joe,
Those are just the ribs in the stamped aluminum rear license valance. One solid piece.!

Bruce,
Thanks again for thinking of me. The '62 is very nice. Not much wrong with it at all.. The rubber mats in the Biscayne are made of unobtainum. Thank heaven it's not another red one....

Thanks Verne--I figured a guy with a car that nice wouldn't be cutting up his bumper, but I couldn't find a photoshot of the rear bumper in my books to see if it belonged.....
