Scott,,,,While I am posative that Paul would be happy to show you his fine collection, you will have to go see another collection in Ft.Worth area to see the Chevelle. I can get you an invite there as easy as "apple pie" and you wont be disappointed. Your group of cars sounds great for what I think must be a relatively (to me anyway) young guy.......Bill S

Hi Scott,
I'd be pleased to show you my collection when you return to Ft. Hood later this year. If you want to give me your email address, I'd be happy to email you pics directly of the bronze Chevelle. I also want to thank you for your service to our country. Paul

Bill - Not sure I'm a "young" guy, but understand it's a relative term. I'm 38; grew up wrenching on Chevys then got away from the hobby for many years. Was a 67-69 Camaro fan growing up; had several. Had a few midyear Vettes (including a 66 425 horse 427 4 sp coupe), too. Actually picked up all of my current cars (except for my Fairlane hardtop) in the space of about 6 months while I was living in Charlottesville, VA last year. I'm not independently wealthy but ran across a few good deals that I couldn't pass up. Sold a few that I wasn't going to keep so I could afford to buy more keepers.
Paul - Thanks for the offer. Will definitely take you up on that! Would love to see that SD Catalina, too! Bruce - thanks for sending the pics; my e mail is giving me problems now, but I should be able to open it soon. Chris - Appreciate the pics. BTW - you don't have to thank me for doing my job, but you're welcome! Scott |

As many of you know, Paul sold this low mile L78 Chevelle to another collector/forum member in Dallas. Paul had lost the original paperwork in the tragic Oakland fire in the early 90's that destroyed about 2,500 homes. He had copies of the window sticker and build sheet, but no original paperwork went with the car. The Chevelle was spared because it was in a warehouse away from the fire. Chris P. didn't hesitate to buy the Chevelle even though the car came with photocopies of the original paperwork, the car was so amazing that it could stand on its own. Last week during cleanup of the car, the new owner discovered another original build sheet under the front carpet and the interior trim paperwork under the rear seat. Both buyer and seller were glad that original paperwork was discovered, what a neat find. This should remind us to keep looking for that elusive paperwork, it may still exist. ![]() |
