Probably about the same price as finishing a restoration on a Z/28. Put the blinders on buddy. Let's see that Z done!

I have no money(it all goes into the JL8) so everything will be a loan at this point. But I just did a tuneup on the 88 4Runner and this thing runs so darn good I can't see getting rid of it. A Buick GN would be a nice daily driver but I can't really see myself getting a loan when my current vehicle runs great. I'm still curious as to what the real value is on these cars. And I'm talking about non modified cars. I saw a GNX on Ebay at $60K and that blows my mind!

low mileage GNX's with all documents, jacket, hat etc will fetch way more then $60k. Tghey are approaching $100k with al documents and mileage low. My friend has a 7000 mile GNX with everything and he was offered $70 k and laughed.

Wow, I didn't realize they had jumped that much. It seems like it was just last year you could get one for $45-50K. Of course, what seems like last year was probably 5 years ago!

I, too, own a relatively low mileage(80K) 86GN. It has minimum mods(upgraded turbo, cold air intake, catback exhaust, master-power brake system). When we were toying with selling the car recently, I got a lot of 15k offers but none at 18k, the amount my wife would agree, at that time, to part with it.

Right now it's not for sale and I drive it about twice a week for pleasure. Relatively unmolested models, which are rare, continue to go up in price(up to 22K) and the much more rare(only around 500 made)in perfect shape GNX's are heading toward 100k. If you're looking for a fun car that is appreciating modestly, it's highly recommended. But you have to find one that isn't full of rust or, more likely, beat to hell with tons of modifications.

The sleepers here are the Turbo T and Limited turbos. They can be had for cheap and have the exact same drivetrain as a GN. I was gonna buy an 87 Limited recently that had 29k miles. leather interior and 100% stock mint for $12,900. By yhr time I called it was sold. Damn

If black paint is a must, look for a WE-4. They look like Grand Nationals only with the T-type aluminum wheels, no spoiler on the trunk and all grey bucket interiors. They are also lighter that the Grand National due to aluminum rear brake drums, wheels and bumper brackets.
