Default Re: Vintage muscle car reunited with original motor

That is the second car this year that has been reunited with its original motor... Last Winter I helped locate Jim Shockley's original motor to his 69 Yenko Camaro after 30 some years MIA.... We heard of one for sale in the area and him and I went there and picked it up.... It took two days to read his VIN on the block due to rust all around the oil filter pad... After Jim cleaned the area the VIN appeared very faintly but it was there.... The car will be at the reunion this weekend but I still think the original motor is on a stand next to the car to be transplanted this Winter... Cool stuff when car guys can help out other car guys... Its like an extended family...

speaking of finding original motors, there was a W31 on ebay a few weeks ago,and the original motor to it is sitting in a garage in Oregon,i believe.
seller of the w31 knew this, but still wouldnt buy the motor..

These 'real' original engines finding their way back between the rails that once held them sounds like a long-lost love story....almost makes a car guy a bit weepy? .
