The cowl induction hood was only available on a Copo, Z28 and SS. The DX1 stripe was not available on Z28 or SS cars, but was available on base models and possibly a Copo. So the DX1 stripe was available on this car but not the cowl hood.

So maybe we're not talking 100% original, still pretty nice. Car, too.

------Dave,,, I hope I didnt come across the wrong way. If I owned your car and had the imagination to think of your stripe I would have done it too. It is in the Camaro family and looks really cQQl going up over the hood bump. Congratulations on the car as well as the good use of your little gray cells on the stripe..........Bill S

olredalert,
No offense taken. The car gets comments every time I drive it. The few changes I made are all ones that can easily be undone. I think I have only seen one other car in person with a DX1 stripe. The car runs and drives great, easily passes the Phoenix emissions and I could drive it from here back to Phoenix without a worry. I wouldn't try that with any of my other cars. This is the only car I brought out here, something to keep me in the game until I get back out where it's dry and rustfree. Don't have any tools to speak of here so needed something reliable. Thanks for the comments, I threw the last photo in for everyone to see if you're paying attention (.)(.) I guess ya'll passed the test.

If I don't pass that test, you might as well nail the coffin lid closed Beautiful car, Dave
