Default Re: 70 Chevelle SS Questions

Thank you gentlemen. Went back today and the trunk pan is a dead give away. I never owned a 71 or 72 just 70's so I learned something new to look for in the future. She is not a 70 body that is confirmed since we didnot have that cannister option in 70 up here. I am interested now to look at the trunk of the next 70 calif car I see to determine if they have the 71/72 style pan or not.
I have to say he did one hell of a job putting her back together considering when we looked at it years ago the back bumper was pushed within inches of the front buckets. Still some pretty with the ls-5, no.28 fathom blue body, white conv top and white interior. I am a sucker for that combination but not a $75,000 sucker for a rebodied car with her history. Yep. All matching numbers, build sheet and GM documentation. He does not own a computer or is a club member just a 70 assembly manual I seen on the bench helped him through. I told him openly before leaving what I thought of the car, why I was not making an offer and hopefully that he will be honest with the future buyer on the car's true history. Also told him why his cowl hood would not stay open but I will leave it at that.
