There were 2 ol' geezers at the Grove with their Anniversary Gold Impalas. We came back from the pits late and Ronnie Evans' '62 had a "Best of Show" plaque on the front seat. The car still has the plastic seat covers on it.
The track was slick, as the Grove usually is, but there were some good runs. There were a few front engine AA/FD there that put on quite a show. The HemiHunter was there and made one pass, but left some oil at the finish line. That was disappointing to see those good guys on a budget have bad luck. That car carved out a major place in history with a MKIV trouncing many hemis in it's day!

I don't know anyone who didn't route for that rail whenever it came out.
