Don't take the "L" notation as a sure fire indicator for a Super Sport.
For 1970 at least,the Non Super Sport LS-3/330HP Big Block Chevelle/Elco & Monte Carlos have been found with this "L" too,as well as genuine Super Sports built at various other plants that don't have the "L" notation at all.
I believe it to denote more for a Big Block,more then I do the Super Sport option,but the jury is still out as to what it really stood for some 37 years ago.
