Default Best books for supercar info?

Hi everyone, could you guys suggest some good books to learn more about these cars? I don't always have access to my computer when I have reading time and would like to be able to learn more about these cars. A couple basic searches at Amazon didn't seem to point torwards any one book for supercar info. Thanks, Kevin

You have to buy a lot of books, Kevin. Because there isn´t one book that says it all. One book you should buy is "Chevrolet Big-Block Muscle Cars" by Anthony Young, (Muscle car color history, Motorbooks International). There´s some good pictures of really nice cars in there, with a lot of written information.

I'll second that.

One good reference is the 1982 soft-cover book: "Chevrolet, The Performance Years" by Martin Schorr. Lots of good information on Motion-prepped supercars. You can get this book on eBay if you are patient.

Another source is old car magazines, also available on eBay, sometimes in multi-issue lots. Magazines road-tested many of our favorite supercars and no car-guy library can be considered complete until it has stacks of '60s (and '50s and '70s) car mags.

I have some vintage Hot Rod magazines, one with a Zora Arkus-Duntov interview, another featuring Chevy's "new" BB 396, another with a Smokey Yunick article on how to build a 427 for an honest 560hp. Most of the stuff I have with supercar info in is new magazines, Muscle Car Review and I subscribe to Muscle Car Enthusiast. I'm kinda surprised no one has every written a book on just the supercars. Thanks for the info guys, I'll try to find those books. Does anyone have the Copo Performance CD they sell on Copo.com? I might check that one out too.

A book with just Chevy supercars in it would probably not sell as good as needed. And if the author would write about all kinds of Chevies or all kinds of musclecars, he would not have enough knowledge about the cars. Therefore he would include so many errors, that the book wouldn´t be interesting to the initiated. Those errors are a big problem when you are seeking information.
