Default Re: 1967 Chevelle... What color?

I have a 67 chevelle SS and when it was restored I wanted to go with Mrina blue,so when it came time to purchase paint I went to PPG.I wanted the old color but in a base coat clear coat.Well it was not availiable then and not sure if it is now.I went through the old paint chip for 67 and took the marina blue chip and matched it up with a new PPG color. Now on the chips side by side they looked exactly the same so I said mix me up 2 gallons of that,it was called Neon Blue.As it turned out in reality it is darker than Marina blue and deeper! As it was first applied to the bottom of the car I did not like the color , It had no clear on it but I did not like it.Well the painter said let me get more done and clear on it and see if you like it.I thought all night about how I disliked the color, and made up my mind to change it the next day.Well when I got to the shop I looked at the car and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! After the car was finished We entered it into the Auto Rama in Houston and won 2nd place.I bet I had 150 people if I had one ask me the actual color of the car,I honestly got tired of being asked that question so I would not even stay around the car.Go to a PPG dealer and look at a Neon blue paint chip if you like blue, and see how it looks to you.I will see if I can get my soninlaw to take a couple of pictures of the car so you can see what it looks like! Or if you want them real soon e mail me your address and I will send a couple of photos I have of the car to you.I still get comments till this day and it is 8 years old now about the color of blue on the car.
