In the prior eBay auction it was stated that the original owner put those covers over the seats to protect the original seat material. It certainly would have been helpful if the current seller had pointed this out in his auction Don't know if the original seat material is cloth (very few SS396's were) or the optional vinyl, but in any case it is probably still as new. As far as the stripes, those were undoubtedly added by the original owner or the dealer, as the cars which did not have the optional D96 Sport Stripes looked rather bland. With a little detail work, I believe this would make someone a nice car

You are correct Bill! I contacted the original owner and those are seat covers from day one still on the car and the new seats are underneath. It is very professional job so I assumed it was factory. I was mistaken. Thanks!

Sorry to hijack post , but being you are in Huntley , have you ever seen a lime green ( everything green , underneath , engine compartment )Black top & interior 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SX run around there ? Sold it to a fella from there some years back.
