They got the L35 hp rating correct in the text. B-nut Yellow RS/SS 396 with a Th-400 and 3:07 rear (got one just like it). No tach/guages but it did have power windows, tilt wheel, headrests, and disc brakes ("and more"). I laughed at the comparison of the 396 Camaro to the Oldsmobile Turnpike Cruiser. 15-second 1/4 too. Those D70s look like Cheerios.

Bruce, neat write-up on the 67' cars. I've been searching in vain for a 1971 copy of CAR LIFE, which supposedly, has a road test article featuring my 71' LS6 press car. Do you know of any 71' issues that are available?

That rear spolier looks like the flat backed one on the BY 67 Z... the prototype car.

Bill, did you see the rear spoiler? ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Not on the L35 car I didn't!!! ![]() Firstgen is right, the prototype Z/28 had that one-off flat-backed spoiler. Larry Shinoda hadn't perfected the design yet. I'm assuming Shinoda designed the first-gen spoilers? Now there's a trivia question! |
