Real tag, bad rivets. But the tag date lines out with the VIN. dave [/ QUOTE ] Dave, How closely does the cowl date & Vin "line out" as you mentioned? Do the non-original rivets indicate that this cowl tag was affixed to this car sometime after original manufacture?

Tag may be original to the car, but has definitely been off and then put back on with non-original rivets. Unfortunate, because now the car will forever be questioned, even if it is the original tag.
