If the second number on the metering block is 6238-1,
then I would assume the carb was a LIST 6238. Also check the front right ear on the baseplate. The carb LIST number should also be stamped there on a service dated carb. I don't know the GM part# right off the top of my head. Hope this helps, ![]() Eric |

You're right,that's a 1972 Camaro Z/28 350/255HP Auto.Trans.application.
These originally came with a #6825 Front metering block. |

Listen guys, I want to thank you so much. You have no clue how much this has nagged at me, I feel like a moron for cutting it off back then and for losing it.
It does have a 62381 with no dash on the base, and I vaguely recall the GM number ending in 88. But how does one know for sure after all these years, heck I have trouble remembering my kids birthdays. One thing that sticks on my mind hard is that it was for a Big Block auto car, is there any chance I could have the year off and it was on a 71 that could have been a 454? |

Only List #'s I see for a 71 BB or 454 would have been #4802 or #4803.
I see nothing connecting it these numbers or those engines at all. |
