This subject has been discussed at length and basically we all seem to agree to disagree to a point. That is why I invite anyone going to Carlisle this month to look at my car and form their own oppinion. Where is Brian when you need him ...

After much consideration and debate, I believe the tail panels were in fact painted glossy black....Are you happy now BKH!

Have an original paint 70 SS396 L-78 here that belongs to Nils Julin who's on this site, its absolutely Gloss Black. Jim

Hey Brian, you and Joe made my day with that little tidbit. Nothing like learning how things were done at the factory by careful examination of these survivor cars.


I am working on the smog brackets with and without holes now.
