One thing that helps thin out the undesirable stuff is to change the search criteria. Like if you want to search "427" and didn't want any Ford 427 related stuff to pop up you would type the search like this (put 1 space between the thing you're searching for and the "-"):
427 -(ford) It'll search 427 and eliminate anything with the word ford. If you want to add more things to eliminate just add the words in with only a comma in between them (no spaces between words). The searches ignore capital letters so don't bother typing them. 427 -(ford,boating,volvo,pontiac) You can put in all kinds of words or even numbers (phone numbers, email adresses) that are unique to some sellers. That will eliminate all the auctions of a certain seller, like guys with aftermarket spark plug wires, weatherstripping and chrome timing chain covers. As long as the word is in the description or the title it'll work. Sometimes you can't get rid of everthing, but you can sure thin out some of the junk. I emailed ebay and asked if they can modify the searches so we can eliminate certain sellers by just putting in their ebay ID. That was about a year ago and they just said thanks for contacting us. Anyway try it and I think it'll help.

Just an observation here:
I'm not condoning the use of these monikers, but I would have to expect that any "real" COPO, YENKO, etc. owner would/should know the differences when looking for parts. ![]() Yes, it is a PITA when I search for these items, but as was previously mentioned, it's just the price of doing business on eBay. Steve [/ QUOTE ] I agree that someone with enough knowlege should know what they are looking at. My point was that when ebay items are listed there always seems to be one of these monikers attached, weather it is a true COPO or Yenko part or not. They are just using these names to charge the max. amount. |
