You may need to go the bonded title route. Kind of a pita. Depends on how friendly the folks are at your local DMV. I'd be sure to get that bill of sale. Some counties require it, some don't. So much for consistancy. Maybe call down and talk to them(DMV) before you go. Might save you a trip. Good luck.

Does anyone have any advice on searching for these 13 digit vins.Everywhere I have tried wants 17 digits

Sometime you can add 0000's to make the total of 17 sometimes this works, Kim

Did you buy it from a guy in Bettendorf, and the car came out of the South, like maybe Texas?

I got it from a guy in Davenport Iowa.Not sure where he got it from but I will find out
