The engine looks pretty much like a stock 396 with a hot coil.

That looks like a GM Aluminum intake, the car is an auto so that knocks it out of being an L78 car. So either the stock 396 got an intake and carb or the stock 396 with quadrajet got yanked in favor a L72.

Very cool car.. they should pull the plugs and spray some Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders and let it soak a bit before they try and turn the motor over. And maybe even spray the motor down if they are just going to let it sit like that
