There is a pic of the firewall where the sending unit was on the 2nd page of post. Thanks Rick H. and Camaro Joe for the info and pics. Restored interior is nice, can't wait for this one to look like that one.

 Great story and neat find. and to think it was in my back yard years ago  Oh well just means you have to travel the back roads more i guess!!!

The Deluxe Steering Wheel on the 68 Camaros (at least the May built 68 SS 396 that I had) did not have the 396 along with the SS on the horn button. I believe that was reserved for the Chevelles and big cars.

Not all '68 SS396 Chevelles received the SS396 horn emblem either...many came with just the plain SS with no engine ID as seen here.

Wow....I mean WOW!!! . Congratulations on the auquisition of the year!!! . NIce details and happy for you the tags are all there! . Are you starting resto soon....maybe taking it to SCR as is? .
