Default Re: Yenko paperwork for creating the COPO option?

Yes I believe that is the paperwork with the emissions test on it, it was the 375 horse 396 (with a different suffix code...MV or ??? dont' remember) that some claimed designated it as a 427. I read somewhere else that an original owner of an unconverted 68 car with the suffix code said that with out a doubt his engine was a 396 not a 427.

I replied in another thread mabye a year ago, because I had read in a magazine about the -68 Yenko´s being factory built with 427 engines. I got a private message from a member saying that he had one of the six unconverted Camaros with the original 396 in it. And it had the MV code on the block.

Anders, i can confirm that the one of the uncoverted camaros has the orig MV coded motor - 440 casting block. This is tom billigans car. My car the other unconverted car (2 of 6 know to exist) has the original POP showing my orig vin and MV code on the POP.

Ed, I believe someone told me at the Supercar reunion in 2004, that Yenko ordered 70 L-78 Camaros in 1968. 64 were converted to 427 power, and 6 were sold with their original 396 powerplants.
But now I remember reading an article written by Brian H. and Tom C. I believe. I think they said that 75 L-78 cars were probably ordered, and 65 of them were converted.
Is this as close to the truth as we can come today ?
