I'll just add this......Don't forget he's also the guy who owns the infamous "WZ" '61 Impala SS, which is a stereotypical Texas tall tale, and as bogus as a $3. bill...
AND he's currently advertising Blank New cowl tags for $125. plus $10. a strike per character of your choice.....

Yes, of the defunct Chevycraft. You may recall, he was also involved in the sting operation by the government over repro VIN tags many years ago.

Is he the same guy that found a 57 Black Widow Chevy in a barn and also had Buddy Holly's Impala?

I'm not too certain of his other exploits. Knowing what little I do know is enough misfortune.

How unfortunate that we are reasonably able to make statements about people like that (Clements) who could otherwise be doing much to help/improve our hobby

I'm not sure if I'm reading your comments correctly, but I feel certain that the subject at hand can NOT possibly do anything to improve this hobby of ours, considering all that I've witnessed that he has done to undermine it's legitimacy and integrity for 20 years.
When he was offering a "documentation service" many years ago, he was the subject of a sting operation I headed myself with a false inquiry, just to see what he came up with. The results were as totally false, just made up to satisfy the money spent on the inquiry. Nothing was accurate.
I could elaborate on my opinion, and very strongly, but in today's climate I'd just better keep my thoughts to myself. All I will say is Caution to anyone who deals with him.

This hobby has a few bleeding sores on it's ass. The best thing to do is avoid rubbing up against them.

There's no thread hijack here. Bill's past reputation should tell you all you need to know about that '70 Chevelle. Ask and you shall recieve. Not always pretty.
