Correct me if I am wrong: The silver grills were factory installed only on the black cars, RS and standard.

I saw an NOS RS silver grill on ebay about 2 years ago.

I think all the standard grills were silver. All the RS grills were black EXCEPT for the black RS cars which got a silver RS grill.

If I am wrong, no doubt someone will tell me.

69 Z's/COPO's/Yenko's/Sport Coupes - No matter what factory color, they all got the argent silver grills.
RS's - All of them were black, unless the Camaro was painted Tuxedo Black, and then the argent silver grill was installed.
SS's - all received black grills.
