They're still around, not sure how many or what the total numbers of conversion pieces (roof mainly) were built originally but I'm no expert. Thomas would take orders so it makes you wonder how many roof sections were built at a time or if on an as ordered basis. - probably as ordered after the first few, if there were more ordered. Supposedly there were only three cars built and one was destroyed but it was either this site or another I saw where someone mentioned that the "destroyed" car was saved.
I want one. I've always liked Thomas products. About five years ago I saw a '62-'63 Nova convert that was gutted -no interior or top mechanism just a decent rolling shell. I had thoughts and it would have been a perfect starting point for a street version. What parts (extra?) are known to still be around? I wonder if someone has the molds for the body pieces. Hey, if one shows-up at an SCR... pics, pics and more pics...ooh video too. Paul |
