Sorry in advance if this offends anyone here but the engine on drugs reminds me of a buddy's ideas on running a crankcase full of of all things, a woman's slippery substance....smegma is it?? . He claims it's the slipperiest substance known to man and combined with it's known high temperature capabilities makes consideration as a lubricant in high-rev engines worth further testing? . Anyone considering this would be advised to exersize extreme caution as it's well known that exposure to these substances is highly hazardous to the average North American Male.....somehow a seemingly normal fella loses the ability to think straight and throws all concerns for personal safety aside when working with these materials?? .

Further to the above, testing of these as experimental lubricants in engines with consumption problems or two stroke motors should be avoided. . The resulting emissions could cause crowd panic and or a loss of the natural competitive spirit while racing....some fellas could become content to place a close second behind the vehicle emmiting the dangerous fumes?? . Also not recomended is blending of these materials....previous testing has shown males experimenting with more than one type of these substances at a time as highly dangerous!

Hey Jim, are you really considering a Dana in your Mk.1V Nova transplant....then what? .

Actually my buddy has the Dana in his Nova...I thought it was worth like $800...he thinks it's worth $1300. It has a spool in it so I'll have the added expense of a posi unit..so I figure 'screw that',I'd have close to $1800 in it...now I'm looking for a 12 bolt.[real one!]

4:11 would be nice. I've a rock crusher in the attic for 30 years.. and I'll build a 496 [454 w/.250 stroke +.060 bore] or a 540 if I can find a used block ['cause I'm thrifty!].
I have a set of ZL-1 heads..dog dishes / Cragar SS maybe Redlines...rubber mat..so it would look day 2...

OK Here's the answer...Pontiacs had two styles of valves covers...the 389 style, '66 and older, you know the ones, they didn't have squared shoulders, they fit 326-389-421...and 67 and newer style that fit 350-400-428-455.

They both had the same bolt pattern but the 66 and older sat about an 1/8 lower on the head.

If you put a 389 valve cover on a 455 engine the rockers just hit in the sections of the valve covers that aren't 'squared' off. An extra set of gasket cures that ill. So plenty of 65 and 66 GTO's have 455 engines in 'em and you'd never know except look for two sets of valve cover gaskets...[or now I guess everbody just memorizes the casting numbers]
