Good catch....how do you know this? . Remember it's easy to register old cars here in Ontario....no matter what anyone says, ususally there's no lawyers needed. . If the Vehicles office doesn't get a Vin match on pre-80 stuff they expect it's an actual Ontario vehicle that was never computer entered or registered since this system was put in effect....fill out a few papers and here's your title! . If this doesn't work there's a few more ways that can procure a title to the Vin of your choice. . No grief for anyone as long as no one questions things....if they do, the paper trail is examined and the spankings are handed out then. .

If they were stolen im sure the insurer who paid out the claim would still be the legal owners.

Last year I heard there were tags in Canada available for some of the ZL1 Camaros. The numbers were for some of the Merollis cars. Nothing ever came of thast story. A friend in Ontario heard one of those cars had been "found" this week. When they checked the vins all 5 turned up. Someone else can run one and verify if they want to. I won't be in Ontario until next month. I'll run them myself or get copies of the records.

So we must assume this guy does not have the cars, just titles? Guess it is open territory, he now has title to them and if they ever show up he can lay claim to them. Correct? Kinda like getting the Titanic registered in your name and if they ever raise it, claim it?

Fantastic work Mark. Bob Harris at Camaro Specialties had someone offering him a "missing" ZL-1 over the past year under similar sounding circumstances. Let's get titles in Australia, France, Egypt, Taiwan and Dubai and make a collector's series of "real" ZL-1's . Hey Bob are you out there?

That's easy here in CT also. I bought a '72 van from Penn. on eBay back in January. I registered the van only knowing the vin, went to Penn. and drove it home.

I can register any classic car, knowing only the vin.
