Ditto on the tag. [/ QUOTE ] How can you guys tell this tag is reproduction? What are clues to look for? Can we compare an original tag verses a repop tag in the "Tech and Resto" section and make it a sticky thread? I know I would benefit from it, I would presume others would too. If we need a picture or two of an original tag I can supply those as well.

By divulging the reasons why, the counterfieters would know as well and make the necessary corrections. Study tags from known originals with history and docs and compare to some restored cars. There are several repo tag producers, and each has their flaws.

My 6A built L78 had an engine date of T0505. Based on the VIN, the car was built the last week of production in June. Remember all June built cars are tagged 6A. The rear was dated 6/26. Flags have been raised on this one.

I have some great photos from Muscle Car Review in 1990. There is a centerfold of the car in that issue. Talks about a ball joint breaking while backing up and the restoration that followed.

Good memory Tim. It was the Cover Car as well. There is an L78 Camaro Convertible registry starting up soon.

I have some great photos from Muscle Car Review in 1990. There is a centerfold of the car in that issue. And those pictures are BEFORE it was restored by Camaro Specialties in East Aurora, NY. Bob Harris spent 850 hours on this car and said this was the tightest convertible he has ever seen and worked on. Every inspection mark on the chassis was intact, because it had be undercoated when brand new at the dealership, before delivery. They hand wired brushed the entire undercarriage to preserve every mark. Not ONE pinhead of rust on the entire car.
