A little further background.....................I've owned this car since 1987, done alot of research since then, talked to people who worked for Yenko back then. When I did All this...........it was before self proclaimed Yenko experts knew anything about a Yenko Stinger Corvair.

You are confusing us. Are you saying active members of this site are not on the up and up about the Yenko's ? The Stingers or all Yenko's ? People from somewhere else ? Help....

Me naming names is not going to be constructive in this thread. If these people want to chime in... they know they are free to.

There are more cars with door tags that do not match paperwork. The people putting the tags in the doors were not concerned with matching them up. When six cars went out. Six tags went on. It happened on camaros as well.
As long as you have documentation for your car. I would never give up the original tag for the right number. Earl |

Thanks Earl!! What you said was my first thought years ago. It is the way my car left Yenkos shop. A person was trying to convince me that someone had originally lost my number 100 tag, and had replaced it with the number 101 tag. They were also trying to convince me that my car having the 101 tag on it casts a shadow, and doubt on my car. They said they would just leave the tag off, if it were them. This same person also told me that all of my documented racing history from 1966 thru 1972 added no value to the car. Shortly after these people couldn't buy my car......was when one comes up with the # 101 car. I guess he got the car with some kind of papers, but no tag on the car.
