Interesting date on that waterpump if it's the original..February 69.
I would imagine an #065? Is the Radiator still holding the Prefix tag of ZE. The Deepgroove Fan pulley should be part #3976060AP,and worth it's weight in gold. That #631AO is a NON Deepgroove 1971-74 base pulley. Original engine..original driveline..deluxe interior..Original paint...Valve Covers w/drippers,..booster tag...5 bladed fan, etc. I understand your day two obsession Tom,but I have to play Devils advocate here and ask,"What did this Time Capsule ever do to you?" Go pick on a different one. ![]() |

Rick, you are the detective and the man with the numbers...went out and pulled the crank pulley it ends 666AO so I guess they are both wrong. Sorry I don't know these numbers like I should..but that's what you guys are good at. 065 pump..no tag on rad..looks like a 3 core.I have another original th400 unit at the shop...will compare. Took a closer look at front of car..it may have been hit once or lost a water pump that took out fan and radiator. That would explain service replacement fan. Non-original by-pass hose/clamps on pump. Also noticed screws holding grill on instead of rivets..??? someone has been there before.

Cool car, love the black Novas
![]() I'm not surprised that you would find some different parts on the nose of the engine, as it appears that something must have gone through the grill at some point - the small block core support and holdown are some clues. If you have screws holding the grill stiffener to the grill, then someone put an NOS grill on there at some time bec/ the NOS ones don't come with the stiffener attached. Day 2 it all ya want, the Day 1 cars will still blow it's doors off ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Well, here's the latest update on "the project". I definately think this car had some work done on the front end. Saw some GM parts labels on the 2 front bumpers brackets, couldn't read. Found a parts label on center support behind grill that comes up by the hood latch #3938635. Saw the word ACE on the inside of the front bumper??..now for some technical info:
Brake Booster Tag 342(front) 920(back) Rear Stamp CBT 1028 G1 E Trans Tag C70W 276 70 CW 1424 The tag is mint..it was covered with some oil and grease that protected it engine T1218 CTY with VIN cowl tag 3rd week of jan/70 732 19 19 A build sheet was in rear seat..not much on it though..body number matches cowl tag..trim and paint match.. #1 box FLT #2 box ZJ1 #3 box ZL3 and that's it.... Starter..had a Delco Remy Re-manufactured label 1108430 4F26 1 found a wire on drivers side near washer bottle with a connector that looks like it is for the Low Washer Fluid Indicator light..don't know if this connector is on all cars or just those that ordered the Aux. Lighting??? Front disc brake calipers look original with the little blue plastic bleeder covers yellow traction bars on back with some black paint sprayed on them..probably vintage Lakewoods underside is incredible..very solid with just a light film of surface rust..looks like a little root-rot in pass side frt fender at the very bottom..typical Nova.. battery tray was shot..rust holes, but no problem underneath it. everything is stripped down under the hood..next step is to clean and degrease engine bay and underside. original style spiral shocks on front with factory labels original riveted ball joints..rest of suspension looks factory. hope to have some photos tomorrow to post. Thanks for watching.. wilma ![]()

Hi Tom, Everything looks good on your end.But not painting the car it will even look closer to the ealr 70's. Good choice! BTW Sometimes I can't figure out why Marlin hammers me so much about this day-2 stuff. I know we go back and forth but I never bug him about racing or anything like that. Sometimes he seems just not to quit. I don't like the day-2 look just to be able to beat somebody that has a pure stock car. I just like that era. Don't know where he is coming from somedays. I am just having fun but I think he means some of these statements. I am not the only guy that likes day-2 stuff. Don't always know how to take him.

Sammy, this hobby is about diversity and having good time. If everybody liked the same thing, what fun would it be.. He's just havin' some fun with ya...don't let it throw you. Stay calm, don't worry, be happy.... and shift like hell!!
wilma ![]() ps. Does Vera know you spend all this time on line chatting with your gearhead boy friends???? ![]()
