67L78...you can rest assured that people who really like the history and owning these cars are here....the only prestige in all this crap is the pride of ownership...Supercar or not...There are always the type of people who lay in the weeds and will do anything in their power to grab a car like this....and then just flip it for more money. I would bet thats what will happen here..and if the guy who bought it is who I think it is...that will happen soon rather than later. After he fugure out a way to hype it up and create the story. JMO.

No problem, first post realy had nothing to do with it. I just went off the edge a little reading the posts, reacting poorly to the greed aspect today that was all. I greatly enjoy talking with the wonderful people I have met here and elsewhere, and I know that the vast majority of the people here are here in a positive way. Sometimes I just have trouble accepting that small number are just greedy. The last thing I want to see is a long standing frinedship(s) to suffer over what in the end is less impartant.

racefan: sYc was pointing out the similarities between this thread and another that happened many moons ago...not directing anything at you. [/ QUOTE ] No problems, I wa a little confused as to what I had done wrong. Here is the update. The other Iowa guy drove 20 hours last night to pick up the car. Seller gave directions to the car, and never showed. One of two things happened: 1) Car wasn't real and was a total scam or 2) Someone else got to the guy and offered more money. Either way, this was a bad deal all the way around. Like lots of people have said, too bad we don't have another great supercar find to talk about, regardless if you like the buyer personally or not. I would be curious to see if anyone else has spoken to Sal (the seller). If you do, let him know that you won't be falling for his little game. This scam cost someone 6 days and nearly $1000 for the trip.
