Enoch, you won't get a call...He is being paid the extra 25K to not answer the phone and consider the car sold. I saw the post last night at about 11:00. I thought it might be too late to call but I tried anyway...I got the same "no message has been set up". I figured I would wake up my normal 7:00 am and try again.... I got the same message. I tried almost half hour until I finally reached him. He said he wouldn't have answered the phone but he was about to make a call. He said the car was real. I hope it all works out for whoever gets the car. From the sounds of it someone is going to get a really good car, we'll just have to see. Either way, it makes for an interesting weekend! It's too bad he didn't answer the phone last night.

Phil, by reading some of the posts you made (below in red), seems you, or a friend
![]() Seems to me that someone just stepped up and gave a fair offer to ensure he could get a car in a long-distance deal. A guy has to do what a guy has to do to get what he wants....... The days of "I'll be over at 5pm to give you the money for the car, consider it sold" went out the window once these cars became such a treasure. Now, a person will be getting twice what his top dollar was on the car. You can't argue with the ethics of either the seller or buyer in this case IMO I think everyone is assuming way too much. The initial contact with this guy yielded the "higher than asking" offer which was accepted. The way I understand it is that everything else happened after that. Not sure why the guy agreed to have someone else come by or whatever, but the first contact at 6am closed the deal. Maybe he was not convinced initially that the offer was legit-- but I am positive that right now he is assured it is. Look, I am not trying to start fights or stir the pot but things are getting a bit offensive in my opinion. All over a car that was completely fair game to anyone. I am telling you that the offer to give more than asking price was made at 6 am this morning. I don't know what the seller is thinking or doing, but 6 am was when the larger offer was made and accepted. Everything after that, in my opinion, is the seller following the smell of money. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would absolutely agree with this! I wonder. But, my opinion is that cash in hand talks, BS walks. Bottom line is, the conversations that happened this am were without each other's knowledge and weren't willfully harming anyone. Now, anyone who goes after the car outside of these initial two or three people is in a different catagory altogether IMHO.

I hope this car is real, these B-M cars are awesome! Who can blame the guy for doubling his asking price, way to go! I think he should keep taking offers from the sharks with deep pockets until the price of buying plus the cost of restoration leaves no profit margin or have more in the car than its worth, then flipping it for a profit would be out the window and the collector that truly wants it bad enough ends up with. If the seller does not have a signed contract with buyer he should back up and post the car starting at $100K, and then see who really wants it!

One thing about this situation here bothers me. I have seen on this site and other sites where people post about a car they found sitting in a garage some where and bought it for way under the value of the car. There was a guy that came on here a few months ago bragging about a car that he bought from a "little old lady" and other members started ripping him a new one for taking advantage of the lady he bought it from. I believe it was an early model 442 but it's not important what kind of car it was. Why is this any different? People are upset because they missed out on this car for 25% of what it's worth. Is it OK to buy a "supercar" for under market value but not OK to buy a $10,000 car for $2000. Is there a double standard here? Just my opinion.
