This May Help

First thing to remember anyone can loose or damage anything!UPS,FEDEX,FREIGHT CO.USPS, ETC.
Contact the last area it was scanned at!Explain to them what has happened, give them a VERY DETAILED DESCRIPTION of the item! Any lost item is considered OVERGOODS! it will be sent to National Overgoods in Atlanta Georgia! There it will stored and when a claim is filed they will do there best to match up items by descriptions! If possible you will get your item sent to you.If the descriptions are not matched up you will more than likely not get your item.remember your description may vary from a Employee at UPS or wherever.Ask to talk to a local MANAGER,explain to him or her what has happened and what is going on.They may be able to help you out. Do not loose your cool and Cuss or HOLLER at anyone no matter how frustrated you get.If these local people are unable to satisfy you explain that you have no alternative but to file a National Complaint! They do not like National Complaints AT ALL! If you have to file a complaint then file.If thay are able to assist you in getting your merchandise and are helpful be sure to contact there Managers and put in a good word for them.A good word goes a long ways at UPS.You might even want to contact Corporate Headquarters and put in a good word there. These good words help others in the future.Hopefully you will get your merchandise.I am retired from UPS but I had nothing directly to do with package delivery.I was a Plant Engineering Manager.Hope this helps and let me know if I can be of any assistance.Remember that anyone that ships as many items as USPS,FEDEX,UPS, and others are going to damage and or loose items from time to time.At UPS number of shipments damaged or lost VS number received on time and intact are close to 98% effective or better.I would bet FEDEX and USPS are similar.I worked for UPS for over 22 years and believe me they want you to get your merchandise! all they have to sell is service and if there service is no good then there is no UPS! There is no CONSPIRACY at UPS to DAMAGE OR KEEP your shipment!Remember anytime you ship merchandise through anyone! It is a good idea to go overboard!on packaging, affix labels using clear tape over them do not put labels on seams of boxes! Also put information inside the package, therefore when opened by the shipper if label on outside is lost they have the correct information inside the package.I used to see shippers ship 50 and 75 lb boxes of screws, bolts in the cheapest box they could find! Then they wanted to bitch because UPS damaged there package. What really got me was $20.00 dollars worth of screws, bolts tore up a $15000.00 conveyor and stopped operations for an hour or so,causing employees to have to bust there ass to keep other packages from being delayed. Remember these packages are stacked on top of each other so if yours is on the bottom in a cheap box! Guess what DAMAGE! You never know where a package will be in a give load!Enough of being on my soap box.I sincrely hope everything works out for you on this.I will be glad to help if I can.Now FOLKS remember I am RETIRED!!! so don't everyone e mail me when you have or if you have a shipping problem!LOL

I am not going to get into a pi%^&*( contest with you on UPS and there practices.I was there happily for over 22 years and I have a very different view of them than you do.You are entitled to your opinion and me I am entitled to mine.I do strongly disagree with you on your statement.I never seen that they did not care about peoples merchandise! Quite the opposite.Damages and late parcels cost the company Tons of $$$$$$$ annually !!so therefore they strive for excellence. Most of us know it is almost impossible to reach 100% and stay there but at least they have a goal to do so.UPS spends millions in its Facility designs and conveyor designs to prevent Damages and keep there employees safe! They are a very successful company! If not the STOCK WOULD SHOW IT.Believe me the stock is OK in my opinion! Has been great to me.

Its not a pissing contest, you think they are great, and I think they suck! I sold all my stock and dumped it into Lowes and have tripled my money in 1/4 the time it would have taken to make those kind of gains with UPS stock! When you put your tracking number(s) in their website for tracking it shows you the location your package should be not an actual scan of the bar code since the trailer is scanned as a inbound bulk load. I was in management with UPS and I can tell you for certain that customer service is about 4th on their list of priorities, and I only use Fed-Ex for my shipping needs now, and have never had a lost or damaged package! Give Fed-Ex and DHL 10 years and UPS will not be the #1 package company! Here is how their priorities are stacked!

1. Take your money
2. make the numbers
3. get yearly bonus at all costs
4. harass/fire good hard working employees
5. customer service

Don't be lied to about UPS and their agenda, they promise the world and don't deliver s**t, give us your money, to h**l with your package and f**k you, thats the UPS attitude! For you guys that have a claim with UPS here is how to get your money back out of them, don't ever make the amount even, like $185 or $300, give a amount like 372.28 and they will pay it almost everytime with your documentation of course, they kick out the even amounts almost automatically!

Not DHL they will be lucky if they around in the next two years
I worked for DHL for 18 years boy what a sewed up company
Do NOT EVER USE DHL it will get lost or damaged 85 % of the time, trust me I know
And now that airborne took them over and one of the major owners is the bin laden
Group Yea I know you did not know this .This has not been a made known fact DHL does not want it to be known
UPS is a real bad run company I know a lot a bout them to UPS is listed as #1 worst company to work for I should write a book of all the things I have seen at the airport
It would blow your mind
Form what I have seen the best believe it or not would be greyhound or there are a lot of good trucking companies out there and it will be a lot cheaper
Fed x was not bad but are now going the way of ups Why UPS fires it’s supervisor’s ever few years just to bust them Then they end up at fed x or DHL with that same goofy UPS mined frame And it getting worse every day I am so glad to be out of that type of business today

UPS is on my $hit list right now. I have had two costly items damaged in the last month+. The first item is one of the original dealer plate frames that came with our new Nova and the second item was a "CL" wheel also for the Nova. The plate frame has a 3-4 inch piece broken off the remaining frame and the CL wheel (date coded for Jan/72) must have been dropped from six feet or higher. I have tried everything in my power to get UPS to cooperate with me and they have failed on every possible account. I also find it interesting that UPS does not record information into a computer. With changing technologies today, major firms like UPS are a part of the New Economy based on new advances in media technology (i.e. computers and electronic databases). I find it near impossible to believe that UPS is so far behind in an age like this. Every time I have called UPS I get to speak to another manager of the claims dept. I think I have spoken to near ten managers. Time for some reorganizing UPS. What a waste…

Rick..I had a set of old mag wheels shipped by UPS...the seller sent them with one label and all 4 boxes taped together....it was winter and the tape broke....ONE wheel showed up...the one with the label...thankfully the other 3 were sitting in Willow Springs or Hodgkins and they went and found them and shipped them over...it was during the Christmas rush but they took the time and found them....they don't throw them out...they go into limbo so if you keep pressure on they will find it...unless someone stole it.

I've had nothing but good luck with UPS, my ex-wife worked there for 10 yrs, they ran it like a marine corps boot camp during that time. However, my buddy Dave D. shipped 4 high dollar original hemi heads out last month, I received my two, the other guy only received one. Last I heard, they were just going to pay the claim on the missing head, saying they had exhausted their search efforts. Just like mr70, it wasn't the $$, it was rarity of the part. I think Bobby is correct, when advising to label the heck out of your package. I do wonder if they are slipping though.
