If that is a Pontiac engine then the con vin should read 29N600758 instead of 79N600758
First digits = GM division 1 - Chev 2 - Ponitac 3 - Buick 4 - Olds 5 - GMC C8C - 1979 350-170hp LM1 F-body, my parts book says Camaro
