Those factory race Mustangs are and very competitive right out of the box. Just order one directly from the Ford Racing Catalog for $120K or pick one up from BJ for only $80K more??

Hey guys...back to homebase.
Well,B-J was a scene...and it was great to meet Bruce (Xplantdad),Tony (Mr T),George Lyons and Kenny Pascoe...all really great people and fun to be with.I'm sorry I couldn't spend more time with you guys but my friends had me running in several directions.

Bruce really needs a hand for all his hard work every year and for all he does for SYC...my hats off to him!

And Bruce...you were right about Pavillions...it was nuts!
There was No way we were going to check out all the cars, and there was some great ones.

For some strange reason...I could not post from AZ...said my password wasn't valid.

My thoughts:

Joel Rosen and the boys will sure have a tough time selling nine cars (They told me #1,2 & 12 are already sold)for asking price when they couldn't squeeze the mil or so they were expecting for this one.I was also told by BM that this car was optioned to sell for $489K so they didn't even bring that.
Not sure if anybody noticed but the upper rad hose on the car was that fake braided "look" hose with the fake end covers hiding the hose clamps...certainly not in keeping with a car of this caliber.

We saw the V-10 Viper-powered "six-shooter" '70 Cuda convertible SELL AGAIN (?) today at 3:30.It sold "today" for $130K...I thought I saw it go last night (lot #1278)for $160K...anyone know?

As someone mentioned:Green does seem to have returned in vogue as a favored color.

Anything with a Hemi goes through the roof.Recreation, clone,or the real thing...doesn't matter.
Have not figured out why rare LS-6 verts and ZL-1 Camaro's haven't brought similar money.

I spoke to a lot of nervous sellers in the staging lanes.A lot of cars weren't bringing the money and there were some good buys late.

I was surprised the Banshee didn't bring more than $195K.

Musclecars rule...and that trend will just continue at B-J next year.A lot of the vendors I spoke to said sales of Ferrari stuff was none exsistant.

The whole experience was just great and it's something you've got to do at least once in a lifetime.Think Pebble Beach...kicked up a notch...and you have Barrett-Jackson.

It was great being on stage with Kenny and George. My wife called me crying to tell me she saw me on TV.

Glad to see you made it back home safe John. It was fun talking to you and your buddies.

You're right, B-J is an amazing event...you have to go at least once...or two or three or four times...

How much did that interesting looking Motion car sell for? Joel's latest project. Why can't he just make 69 Motion Camaro's again?? Isn't there a lesson he could learn from the guys at Unique Performace??

I could'nt believe that fugly polara that Coddington did got more money then the motion car or even the foose car, granted it was for charity but $500 for charity on maybe a $100k car thats pretty generous, consider that the 2006 shelby got $700k for a $45k car too. I also noticed how BJ and Codington like to hold hands and skip through the flowers together. The talk about great builders with codingtons name always on top and foose's name begrudingly mentioned if at all on the bottom of the list. Hmmmmm seems to be something going on here.

Yup both the BM camaro and the six shooter are built by Time machines right in my home town.I seen both very personally.IMHO neither car is worth over 100K.I think there was some hanky panky going on with both bids.I agree with all its not fair how much time they spent on the BM car but others not.Very shady!

Wow--I guess then half the auction was shady....
If you go by what you or anybody else thinks cars or property or houses or apartments are supposed to be worth---You'd better get a bigger cryin towel It's what someone is willing to pay and if you want it you put up "MO MONEY"--Simple----As far as time given to certain people or cars---------------Listen, some of these car builders and car designers are icons and I have no problem with letting them sit in the first row --They contributed to the car hobby more than you or I ever will----People are out of touch with the cost of products and services today and the large demand on them...

Well I agree on the demand and money thing but as far as big names bring cars to the table I have to disagree with the "new" BM car and 6-shooter.The BM car is a far cry from the REAL ones of the 60s and 70s as those cars were built in Baldwin By Motion.Time Machines in Hudson are just a custom resto shop like many others in the world and they were lucky to get the contract.I know a lot of guys who worked on that car and I can tell you the car without the name would have went for a lot less then 450K.A LOT less!Personally I dont see that car as a true Baldwin Motion car and I feel that its just another nice custom(Foosed up looking)car. Please no flames but this is my honest opinion.
