I have '69 Malibu doors here and they certainly appear to be drilled at the front and rear edges to retain the lower Malibu trim. In Oshawa, bodies were not "banked". They were scheduled and mated up with the scheduled chassis in general assembly. The fenders and rear panels were pierced originally. Perhaps these are not original Malibu doors.

On the info page they disclosed that the # 9 ZL1 was a rebody. That probably had a effect on price. The bidding frenzy seemed to peak at the futurliner and then fizzled.

No rhyme or reason to auctions sometimes, especially after seeing the auction halted momentarily for that black 71' hemi cuda. A last minute disclosure of a re-body there, and it still hit 650K I think.

No problem. Just my normal paranoia.
But wait, you really do own it now so I was I guess that proves that I was able to see into the future.
Damn...If I could only see the lottery numbers in advance I could really do some good.

I was expecting to see the 70 Hemi Cuda Convert that Charley drove up on the block bring 2.5-3.0, boy was I wrong. The 71 Hemi Cudas are still the heavy hitters there.

I loved when the announcer was trying to explain his legal theory that in some states if you can prove the body is gone you can rebody it. WHAT???? I felt like emailing him that he was so beyond wrong on that one. It is a felony to do it, period. I think there is going to be some legal issues following that cuda very soon. Ouch!

baldwin motion prototype,69 camaro wonder if they will go to limited production

[/ QUOTE ]

They are planning to build a few. The price listed on the Motion website is $427,000 each.
James

The prototype just sold for $450,000

There was something stange about the bidding for the BM Camaro. It seemed to stall at $300K and then they worked real hard to get it moving, finally ending at $450K. I was wondering if Motion bought the car back at $450K to show they are worth his kind of money since they are listing them for $427K.

It would be impossible to sell any at $427K back here on earth if they couldn't get anymore than that at BJ.

I thought it was a little embarassing how slowly the B-M Camaro was bid. That long pause in the middle and that one bidder shaking his head 'no' on camera at making another bid just made its time on the block seem awkward to me.

There were several cars that the auctioner took a breather on to regroup and nudge the bidders -------------Look at the new shelby------it stalled at 300k the bidding took a breather and it climbed steadily to 600k---The concept chrysler car stalled nervously at 800k--they regrouped and they managed to get it to 1.1mil.-----------Sometimes the bidding goes so fast some bidders just need that extra time to see if they can affort it or in the big dogs case if they really want it----------I REALLY don't think Motion bought it back.......That's a nice climb from 300k to 450k......My hat goes off to the Motion team for pulling this first effort off....
