Ya i saw that episode to. they had said that there was only 200 L79's made is that true?. Does that include 66 and 67 models?. Does that include any acadians?. Was that the rarest or best combo you could get?. Was there any COPO orders on any 66-67 nova's?. The show never answered much about the 66-67 years, they kind of quickly glazed over it.

There were 5481 L79 equipped Novas in 1966 with only 6 made in 1967. I believe that not all the L79 cars were SS, you could order the engine in a plain post sedan..super sleeper!

It may refer to the number of non-SS cars that were produced with that engine. Just a guess, have to do some Nova homework to be sure.

200 is a number that is to generally state how many non-ss L79 post cars were produced in '66, usually preceded by 'less than' bec/ nobody truly knows. Carl Riegger of Allentown, PA is the guru on non-SS post L79 Novas.

Watched some of last years B-J on TV last night...loved when Brock Yates asked Keith Martin if a '68 Z/28 had a powerglide or a 4-speed.
![]() Brock really has no business commenting on these cars...

I watched a little of the BJ auctions ( FL ) today on Speed.
You know, it seems that the "hosts" seem to know a whole lot more about European cars than American Muscle cars. What strikes me as odd here is that 95% of the cars accross the block are American Muscle cars - no. So why don't they get with the program and get hosts who know more about our cars? Steve

I'm guessing Brock works for the no-host bar... ![]()
