And just exactly how did the "few" get the information? I am sure that those with the info searched it out....no one probably shared the information with them, right? Sorry, but that statement rubbed me the wrong way (not exactly sure why- but it did).Sort of makes it sound like information sharing is alright, until it effects "the few"? SO, let me get this right. There is an undiscovered COPO out there that VIN info will not be released until.....when? When one of the "few" track it down and purchase it without the full disclosure to the owner? Just trying to get this clear.

Sounds like you are not only buying the engine but the VIN which may help you find COPO. If he gives out the VIN to everyone the engine loses significant value.
