Our SS396 had the PW7 F-70x14 Whitewall tire option. Until we bought this car, I always took it for granted that SS396 cars came with white lettered tires. Wrong.

Well Keith, I believe the white lettered were standard on the 69 Chevelle SS, with white stripe and red stripe as options.

That could be a copy of the build sheet, but fonts, etc. look legit to me.
As far as OEM tires on the 69 SS Chevelles, I believe you had your choice of red stripe, white stripe, or white lettered...any of them were considered "standard equipment" but either the dealer or the buyer had to specify which they wanted when the car was ordered.
