Looks like a very cool car. L72 Impalas are very rare. I would have to speculate that the exhaust manifolds are also not stock for an L72 nor the master cylinder. 3/8 fuel lines also applied to V8s other than the L72 option.
Good luck with the sale. |

I do not profess to be an expert on the Impala but according to the research I have done the exhaust manifolds are stock w/correct casting numbers per Colvin's book and have been powder coated. Although the 3/8" fuel line may have been used on the 390 hp SS427 it also had a return fuel line; the L72 did not and my car does not. I did not look closely at he master cylinder though so you may be right.

They cant be the CORRECT numbers because they do not have the holes in them for the smog setup. All 4 speed cars in 69 and all solid lifter cars had smog! Wrong air cleaner also. It looks like a nice car you have but with no paperwork or original engine its really hard to be sure its a 425 hp car. At 52k I would think you would need something. 69's are hard cars to get the money out of. There is a true 42k mile 425 car around here with paperwork thet was just sold for 25k.

Yes,and the 1968-70 Impala BB used LH #3914613(Impala specific),& RH #3916178.
His application would denote A.I.R.tapped manifolds. |

Thanks for your comments GTO Don, I am glad to have finally found an expert on the 1969 Impala SS. As far as my asking price goes, if I need any marketing advice I will let you know...

Don,
What’s the story on the Blue Z in your driveway? A friend of mine is in the market for one. He is shopping for a 70-71 and has looked at a bunch of rust and fakes, We looked at a 70 Z/28 in Delaware this week that was a waste of time and gas. If he does not fine one soon I was thinking of selling him my 71.
