Default Re: 1979 PONTIAC TRANS AM Y84 L78 400 4SPEED

Those '79 Trans Ams with the L78 were really quite a car and ran very well. If I remember correctly, the 400 Pontiacs were 4-speeds, and all the Olds 403's were automatics. Pontiac even snuck a nice camshaft in there and got away with it. You know, when the musclecar era ended in the early seventies, it's like someone forgot to tell Pontiac. Just take a look at the 1973-74 SD455's. What else was even close to them. Regular 455's were still available in 1976 and the WS6 four wheel disc brake cars in the late seventies, early eighties were cool. I mean really, how can you not like that engine-turned metallic finish on the gauge cluster. Great car.
