-----I have been looking for a 64 442 for a long time. They are super rare, even rarer as a convert. All I have seen except one in Sarnia Ont. have been molested one way or another as this car has. "Block is available" is a little too loose for me. Oh! The one in Sarnia just cant be bought at this time or it would be on this side of the river........Bill S

"have been molested one way or another as this car has. "Block is available" is a little too loose for me. "
?????? The car is documented with Bill of Sale and POP. The original engine has been passed along with the car for the past 3 owners. With the exception of the engine not being in the car you will not find a nicer UNMOLESTED, DOCUMENTED 1964 Olds 442 CONVERTIBLE. I certainly have been able to even find a picture of one on the Internet. I will tell you after driving the car, with the 455 that's in it, I know why the original engine is being used as a paperweight!

-------No offense was intended in my reply. Sorry if it was taken. It said original block was available. That, to me, meant that it could be had for extra money. Apparently I misunderstood. Also, in my estimation, molested means "replaced motor" for whatever reason. As well, I really am looking for a 64 442, but want one I virtually have to do nothing to, as in low mileage, near perfect with the original drivetrain. I fully realize I may have a long search. Therefore, This car doesnt suit me to a T, but certainly ought to suit many, many others as it too is a cool 442. Hope thats clear enough as I cant figure out how to say it any other way. Good luck with the sale.........Bill S

The car was built by the factory using the Police Apprehender frames for added strength in all 64 442s. (See Attachment)

How cool is this?
Tonight I got a phone call from the ORIGINAL Owner of the 1964 442 I have for sale!!!! Someone (that he doesn't even know) saw the auction on eBay and found his phone number in North Carolina (when he purchased the car in 1964 he lived in NY) and left him a message telling him that if he had purchased a 442 convertible in 1964 that he should check out the one on ebay. He did and it is his. Seems him and his wife were married in 1963 and had been driving some old junkers and decided that they wanted a F-85 4 Speed Convertible. They went to the dealer in Ossining NY and he had the 442 sitting in the lot brand new. It was ordered by a kid who unfortunately got drafted to Vietnam so he could not take possession. They bought the car (they named Linus) which they owned until 1984, when they moved to NC. He said he sold the car for $2,500. He thinks he wants to buy the car back so I am holding it for him while he makes up his mind. Nothing makes me happier than to find a good home for nice car but in this case I found its family!!!!!
